Bosses at nursery vow to improve after 'must do better' Ofsted report

Management at a Stalybridge nursery have vowed to introduce new measures after Ofsted inspectors ruled in required improvement across the board.

The education watchdog said Kids Planet on Huddersfield Road needed to improve the quality of its education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development and leadership and management.

However, inspectors Rebecca Weston and Joanne Buckley said the nursery is 'passionate about raising standards and is aware of the weaknesses that need addressing'.

Their report said: "They know what they want children to learn and experience over time. However, there is not a well-sequenced curriculum in place to help staff to plan for children's learning across all areas.

"Much of the learning that takes place is incidental and the poor organisation of some activities and routines impacts on children's engagement.

"That said, staff do provide a well-resourced environment that considers children's interests."
