Pupils at St Anne’s R C Primary School in Audenshaw have brought a recent newspaper front page to life through their Easter Egg competition entries.
Two choir members used the Tameside Reporter article as inspiration, recreating the scene with detailed handmade displays. Their designs feature miniature choir figures, Manchester City colours and a backdrop reflecting the original story layout.
The artwork stems from an extraordinary experience for the school’s choir, whose performance ahead of Manchester City’s Champions League clash with Galatasaray racked up more than 10 million views on Instagram.
The pupils wowed fans by singing Manchester City favourites before seamlessly switching into Galatasaray’s anthem in Turkish, a moment that quickly went viral online.
Led by choir leader Mrs Derbyshire, the group has built a reputation for taking on ambitious performances, often learning songs in different languages.
