Victoria Park Community Centre to host a free Christmas Day lunch for those spending the holiday alone.
Christmas can be a joyful time for many, but it can also be an isolating period for those who find themselves alone during the festive season. This year, Victoria Park Community Centre in Denton is opening its doors to ensure no one in the community has to spend Christmas Day feeling lonely.
The centre is inviting anyone who may be isolated or without company on 25 December to join them for a free Christmas lunch, served from 12pm to 3pm. The event aims to bring people together for good food, warm conversation, and festive cheer. Organisers emphasise that veterans are especially welcome.
Community leaders hope the initiative will encourage people to reach out, either for themselves or on behalf of someone they know who might benefit from companionship on Christmas Day.
Those wishing to attend are asked to reserve a place in advance by contacting denise.ward@tameside.gov.uk or calling 0161 336 6121.
