Tameside was alive with the sound of music on Sunday 27th July, as Tameside Rocks made its much-anticipated return to Active Ken Ward in Hattersley.

The popular family-friendly music festival welcomed crowds from across the borough for a lively afternoon packed with live performances, good vibes, and community spirit.

Running from 12 noon until 5pm, the event transformed the Active Tameside site into a buzzing mini festival, offering something for all ages.

The musical line-up delivered a diverse blend of local talent and tribute favourites, with Fearlessly Taylor – a Taylor Swift tribute act – wowing the crowd with fan-favourite hits. Funk fans were treated to a high-energy set from Purple Cloud of Funk, while The Undecided brought a mix of rock and indie classics. Simply Ed also took to the stage, whose upbeat set got the crowd singing and dancing along.

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service also attended the event; children were able to look around a fire engine and even sit in the cab.

As well as performances there were inflatables and rock climbing for children to enjoy and even horse riding!

Families, friends, and music lovers of all ages came together to enjoy the relaxed festival atmosphere. Food stalls, fun activities, and plenty of dancing made for a memorable day.

A spokesperson for the event said: “Tameside Rocks was such a brilliant day for our community. It was amazing to see families out together, enjoying everything from live music and performances to fun activities and local support services. It was great to show all sides of Active Tameside at this inclusive event.

"We’re incredibly grateful to the National Lottery for funding it, which meant barriers—whether physical, social, or financial—were removed, making the day accessible for everyone. With free activities for all ages, food vouchers for under-16s, and affordable entry, it really reflected our shared commitment to inclusion and community wellbeing.

"It was great to see so many local services and organisations attending and contributing on the day- Thank you. Tameside Rocks wasn’t just about entertainment—it was about connection, support, and showing the strength of our community. We’re always proud to host Tameside Rocks and are really looking forward to more events like this in the future."
