Agreed move date for Hadfield post office with extended hours

Post Office has agreed move dates for Hadfield Post Office to Hadfield Stores, 83 - 85 Station Road, Hadfield, Glossop, SK13 1AR.

The current Postmaster has resigned and the premises at 120-122 Station Road, Hadfield, Glossop, SK13 1AN, will no longer be available for Post Office use. Therefore, we looked for an alternative location to maintain service.

The current branch will close at on Tuesday 4 July at 5.30pm with the new branch opening, at 83 - 85 Station Road on Wednesday 12 July at 1pm.

During the interim alternative branches include:

• Hollingworth Post Office, 33 Market Street, Hollingworth, Hyde, SK14 8NE

• Glossop Post Office, Norfolk Street, Glossop, SK13 8BS

• Gamesley Post Office, 38 Winster Mews, Glossop, SK13 0LU

Hadfield Post Office will continue to operate as one of our main style branches offering the same range of products and services and with the benefit of much longer opening hours.

There will be one screened counter position and a low-screened, modern Post Office till at the retail counter offering most Post Office products and services.

The main, screened, counter will be open Monday to Friday: 9am – 6pm; Saturday: 9am – 2pm. The Post Office service point, selling selected services, will be available much longer hours: Monday to Saturday: 7am – 9pm; Sunday: 7.30am – 8.30pm.

This will provide 96 hours and 30 minutes of Post Office service a week, making it very convenient to visit. This is more than double the current opening hours, including earlier opening, later closing and an end to lunchtime closing. The branch will also be open all day on a Sunday.
