Everyone, they say, has a book in them and Andrew Dutton has just proved them right in his case by becoming a published author.
By day the 57-year-old from Old Glossop, is a Welfare Rights adviser.
But when he comes home from work at night and at weekends, Andrew becomes a writer.
Now he has had his debut novel ‘Nocturne: Wayman’s Sky’ published by Cinnamon Press.
The book tells the tale of Alfred Wayman, who is a bit of an enigma, solitary, strange and with no past.
All that is known of him is his hatred of falsehood and his obsession with the night sky.
He has friends and enemies, some even want to destroy him.
Wayman thrives in darkness, but every night must come to an end.
Andrew admits he has always wanted to an author.
“It was my dream, I was an avid reader as a kid and I have always loved writing,” he said.
Andrew decided to do something about in 2010 when he took an Open University creative writing course.
It lead to a series of short stories, which lead to an award and a self-published e-book.
Andrew however had his sights set on a full length novel and he is now living his dream.
He continues to write, that is when he is not working or going for long walks with his partner Jo and their pet dog.
Like all authors he has another book in mind.
