Busy Glossop road to be resurfaced

Temporary traffic lights will be in operation this week on a busy Glossop road during the evenings and overnight.

The road from the roundabout at the bottom of Simmondley Lane to the bottom of Glossop Road, along Dinting Vale, will be resurfaced but won't be closed.

As a result, there will be single-lane traffic while the work is being carried out from 7pm each night between Monday 9 and Friday 13 September.

A Derbyshire County Council spokesperson told the Chronicle: "Although the work will be mainly carried out between 7pm and midnight, the lights will remain in operation until around 4am-5am to allow the materials to settle down on the road.

"There will be no disturbance during the day."
