Call for new High Peak on-call firefighters

New Mills Fire Station is holding an open day for people interested in becoming on-call firefighters.

Available for those who live within five minutes of Chapel-en-le-Frith, Glossop, New Mills or Whaley Bridge fire stations, the event will showcase some of what the team does each day.

The session takes place between 10am and noon on Sunday, September 1, with all kit and equipment provided.

Firefighters will also be on-site to talk about the job and its training.
