The return of the lantern parade is set to be among the highlights of the big Christmas lights switch-on in Buxton.
The popular parade, organised by Buxton Sparkles, is holding two free drop-in lantern making workshops for anyone who wants to get involved.
The first is on Saturday 13 November from 10am to 3pm at the United Reform Church on Hardwick Square East and will be followed by a further workshop on Wednesday 17 November from 6pm to 8pm at the Pump Room.
Each lantern takes about 30 to 45 minutes to make. The workshops are open to all ages and fully accessible.
The parade will take place on Saturday 20 November, gathering in Spring Gardens at 6pm. From there, the Ice King and Snow Queen will lead the procession on a magical journey through the town.
It will arrive back at the bottom of Terrace Road in time for the Christmas lights switch-on at 7pm.
This year, the special guest are IBF European Cruiserweight Boxing Champion Jack Massey and Buxton’s Favourite panto dame James Holmes, who is playing Widow Twankey in Aladdin at the Opera House.
A host of attractions will be open from midday on Saturday 20 November and will include numerous stalls, live music and even reindeer.
