Derbyshire Open Arts in socially-distant exhibition

The exhibition will be going ahead as ‘beautiful window displays’ in Victoria Hall over the next week.

May Bank Holiday weekend would have been the first time that Derbyshire Open Arts artists would have exhibited in Victoria Hall and in Glossop. As you can imagine ‘Friends of Victoria Hall’ volunteers and the High Peak Borough Council were very disappointed not to be able to host the exhibition and open days to the Hall but in the current circumstances it was understandably cancelled.

However, they had an idea and still wanted to mark the event and display some of the artist’s work. Sonja Quirk, Project Manager of Glossop Arts Project and founder of ‘Friends of Victoria Hall’ – arranged a ‘socially distanced‘ installation of work.

Sonja said, “We asked Adrian Holt– Ceramic Artist and DOA committee member to contact the Artists and invite them to submit some prints and pictures for display in the beautiful windows of the Hall – we have work by Adrian, Karen Heywood, Jean Dobson and Barbara Helm that will be there all week.”

So why not pop by Victoria Hall on your daily exercise and have a look at the fabulous window displays - but please ensure social distancing if you do visit.

‘Friends of Victoria Hall’ has a Facebook Page and will share images and information over the next week if you are unable to visit. Any feedback or comments would be appreciated and we look forward to seeing everyone soon. https://www.facebook.com/VictoriaHallGlossop/
