Driver's lucky escape in Hadfield

A driver had a lucky escape after reversing into a house in Hadfield.

Fire crews and paramedics were called to Maguire Avenue at 2.40pm on Tuesday afternoon (5 April).

They discovered that a car had reversed into a property.

Derbyshire fire crews from Glossop and New Mills attended, along with Greater Manchester crews from Hyde and Ashton-under-Lyne.

A Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said there were no persons trapped in the incident, but one person was treated by the fire service for minor cuts.

The car was being jump started at the time of the incident.

The fire service made the building safe and left the scene at 4.47pm, handing the scene over to the housing association.
