GALLERY: Easter celebrations at Glossop Age Concern

An egg-cellent Easter party was held by Glossop Age Concern last Saturday.

The annual event held at Bradbury House was for older people in Glossop and was supported by Dinting Scouts who collect Easter Eggs that are then given out to all those who attend.

This year the party was held on a different day as Joyce Brocklehurst, Chair of Glossop Age Concern, explained.

“We normally hold the party on Palm Sunday but because of the fact there are not many buses on a Sunday and from Gamesley nothing at all we decided to have it on Saturday.”

The afternoon of celebrations included a potato pie provided by John Mettrick, entertainment from singer Samantha Jones and a raffle.

Age Concern in Glossop also organise regular trip, events, and coffee mornings.

The group has 200 members and is open to everyone who is aged 60 and over. Membership forms are available at the Age Concern Glossop office at Bradbury House.
