Firefighters and an electrical engineer were called after an electrical fire at an industrial site in Hadfield.

Members of Glossop's Blue Watch and on-call watch, together with colleagues from Whitehill Fire Station in Stockport, attended premises on Graphite Way this morning (Friday) just after 10.30am.

A spokesperson for Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service told the Chronicle: "We were called to reports of an electrical fire. A control box to a solar panel was smouldering.

"We used CO2 extinguishers to ensure it didn't set on fire and cordoned the area off. An electrical engineer also attended and isolated the electrical unit involved."

Firefighters were in attendance until around 11.55am.
