Missing High Peak girl, 13, found

A 13-year-old girl who went missing from her home in the High Peak has now been found safe and well.

Layla Mann had gone missing from Fernilee, having last been seen on Friday afternoon (11 October).

But police confirmed on Saturday at around 11.20am that the teenager had been located after one of their Facebook followers saw Layla and got in touch with them.

A Derbyshire Constabulary spokesperson said: “One follower thought they had seen her in the area and sent us a message on Facebook.

“Local officers went to search and found Layla safe and well. Thank you to the person who got in touch, and to everyone who shared the appeal.”
