Glossop Parish Church could re-open soon

Glossop Parish Church in Old Glossop could be re-opening for private prayer and funerals.

The government is giving the go-ahead to all places of worship as part of an easing of the lockdown.

Before they can re-open procedures must be in place to ensure the building is Covid-19 secure.

In the case of a church, these have to be approved by the relevant Archdeacon.

Writing in his church newsletter, priest in charge,  the Rev Dr David Mundy, says: “The measures have been approved by the PCC and approval is now being sought from the Archdeacon of Chesterfield. Further information will be provided in a newsletter and on social media.”
