Glossop protestors launch 'Warm This Winter' campaign

During their protest about the Jackdaw Gas field last Saturday, members of High Peak Green New Deal and Glossop Women's Strike for Climate took the opportunity to launch a 'Warm This Winter' campaign.

This has been set up by a wide coalition of charities including Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth, Oxfam, Save the Children and many more.

It has four main demands: Emergency support to help families pay fuel bills now; an urgent programme to insulate and upgrade homes; the tripling of renewable energy by 2030; and no new oil and gas fields to be approved.

Campaigners will be out knocking on doors this weekend to gather support for this new initiative.
