Glossop pub expresses gratitude for support over plans

The Victoria Lounge on Bernard Street in Glossop.

A popular Glossop pub has this week thanked everyone for their support after plans for a first-floor terrace were given the go ahead.

Commenting on social media, the team at The Victoria Lounge also thanked High Peak Borough Council for approving their application.

They acknowledged all those who had supported the proposals for the Bernard Street site including High Peak MP Robert Largan and all those who wrote in support of the plans. In total HPBC received one letter of objection and 71 expressions of support.

Under the revised scheme, a ground floor seating area will be provided with a first-floor open terrace above, accessed via a small flight of stairs covered by a glazed atrium.

Renovations at the Victoria Lounge will begin next month, with work set to include refurbishment of the internal shell of the pub.
