Glossop theatre disrupted by vandals

It’s been a tough few weeks for volunteers at Glossop’s Partington Theatre.

The Melvin Warhurst Renovation Fund Box and its cash contents were stolen.

Matters were not helped by ‘vandalism’ when an event was going on and the appearance of some ‘disruptive youths’.

Writing on Partington Players’ Facebook page, a spokesperson said: “Our CCTV could not come soon enough.

“Obviously someone thought it would be funny to obstruct the keyhole when we have a function on as well as the youths running into the theatre being disruptive.

“Does anyone have any respect any more?

“If anyone sees anything like this could you please contact the theatre Facebook page and if you do have children, let them know having fun is fine but we are a charitable organisation led by a team of very hard-working people.”
