Green spaces valued in Whaley Bridge

Community events, drop-in sessions and a survey have revealed how valued local green areas are to the people of Whaley Bridge and Furness Vale.

The consultations run during the summer were organised by Vision4Whaley, the steering group behind the Whaley Bridge Neighbourhood Plan.

Residents were asked to put forward their views about which local green areas are most important to them and it even led to a further three areas being suggested.

The Neighbourhood Plan will designate the sites valued most by the community as Local Green Spaces. This is a formal designation which will provide these treasured areas with extra protection against development.

The full results of the survey are available to view on the group’s website www.vision4whaley.org.uk along with lots of useful information on Local Green Spaces.
