Judgement day for guild

The Glossop and District branch of the Embroiderers' Guild's next meeting is on Wednesday, September 25, at Glossop Cricket Club.

There will be a short AGM followed by a talk called ‘From Image to Stitch: A Textile Adventure’ by Allison James - one of the members.

Press officer Belinda Rodway said: “There will also be a chance to see and vote on this year’s Members’ Rose Bowl Competition. Every member was given some small pieces of lace and asked to produce an item incorporating the lace.

“No doubt everybody will have thought of something different and it will be very difficult to choose the winner.”

Visitors and textile students are welcome to the session at the North Road club from 1pm to 3pm.

Admission is £2 for members, £3 for visitors, which includes refreshments.

New members are always welcome. There is disabled access to both floors.

For more information, see the group’s blog site at www.glostitchedup.blogspot.com or ring Ann Cornes on 0161 343 3819.
