A normally busy road which connects Simmondley and Charlesworth is set to be closed for several days because of a leak.
High Lane was closed on Thursday morning (5 November) and may not reopen until Wednesday (11 November).
Simmondley borough councillor Stewart Gardner contacted Derbyshire County Council and has been told that the closure wasn't planned but is due to urgent works being carried out by United Utilities to repair a leak to the water main.
The picture taken by Lottie Katy on Thursday shows a hole dug in the road which is fenced off.
Motorists are being advised to use Glossop Road via Gamesley as an alternative route to Charlesworth.
