Man, 28, wanted in connection with attempted murder

Johnny Joyce.

Police have issued wanted posters in Stalybridge in a hunt to find a man wanted in connection with an attempted murder in Glossop.

Greater Manchester Police officers handed out leaflets to residents and shops in the Carrbrook area on Wednesday (27 October) with an image of Johnny Joyce on.

It's believed that the 28-year-old has links to the area and GMP have been acting on behalf of colleagues from neighbouring force Derbyshire Constabulary.

A spokesperson from Derbyshire Constabulary has confirmed that Joyce is wanted for attempted murder, after a 22-year-old man received "multiple" stab wounds and required hospital treatment following an incident on 21 September in Glossop at around 1.30am.

Joyce is also wanted for a separate domestic abuse incident, police have said.

They added that Joyce is still outstanding and GMP have been assisting with their enquiries to locate him.

Anyone who sees Joyce should call 999 or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 immediately - quoting reference PNC ID 04/333983K.
