Man back behind bars after arrest in New Mills

A man wanted on recall to prison has been put back behind bars after being arrested in New Mills.

Police say the man, who hasn't been named, was detained off Jubilee Gardens last Friday (27 November) after "a foot chase and helpful directions from members of the public".

The man has been returned to prison to serve the remainder of his sentence for drug offences after breaching the conditions of his prison license.

A Facebook post by Glossop Police's Safer Neighbourhood Team added: "We are working hard to keep our communities safe."
