The High Peak Singers, a new community choir, are set to give their debut performance on Monday (4 July).
Led by Hannah Brine, they will perform ‘Summer Serenade’ at The Royal Hayfield at 8pm.
Performing gospel to pop, sea shanties and classical, the choir will raise funds for New Mills Volunteer Centre, with a retiring collection.
The choir, which formed in April, has around 35 members.
Hannah said: “I have been really impressed with how quickly the choir has started making a great sound, and I’m really looking forward to sharing that with friends and family in our relaxed performance. There will be a handful of solos from choir members also.”
Councillor Ollie Cross and two special local supporters will be cutting the ribbon and opening the gates of Temple Street Community Garden in Padfield, on Sunday 14th June at 2pm.
Following the hottest May ever recorded in the UK, Glossopdale residents are being invited to watch a new film highlighting the growing climate and nature crisis and encouraging action to address it.
