No plans for homes on Glossop site

People living close to the 'Redgra' sports ground at the bottom of Pikes Lane in Glossop have been assured that there are no plans to develop the site.

The news comes from Jean Wharmby and Dom Starkey, the Conservative candidates standing to represent Glossop in next month’s Derbyshire County Council elections.

Cllr Wharmby said: “We were contacted by local residents in the Howard Town area, who were concerned regarding the notices that have gone up on the Redgra. Dom and I went on site, following these concerns.

“The signs stated: ‘Maintenance works in progress. Please keep off the all weather Redgra area. Thank you for you cooperation.’

“We made enquiries at Derbyshire County Council, who own the ground, to see if any development was in progress.

“We can confirm, no developments are planned on this site.”
