Plea from foodbank

Glossopdale Foodbank is once again in need of extra supplies.

Particularly in demand are cereals, UHT milk, pulses such as kidney beans and chick peas, rice pudding, tinned potatoes, tinned carrots, 500g and 1kg bags of sugar and tea bags.

Donations can be put into special baskets at Glossop Tesco’s, Marks and Spencer’s, Glossop Leisure Centre, Glossop Wholefoods, Bradbury Community House, Hadfield Library, Gamesley Early Excellence Centre and the Co-op, Pennine Road, Simmondley.

Anyone who would sooner donate cash rather than food, can do so via the foodbank’s Localgiving page at https://localgiving.org/charity/glossopdalefoodbank/.

Last month, we reported that food parcels were supplied by Glossopdale Foodbank to a record number of people in September. There was a food request to meet the needs of 191 adults and 98 children across Glossopdale.
