Pop-up consultation in New Mills

A possible future for New Mills could be revealed this weekend at a 'Community Pop-Up Consultation'.

Bounce Forward New Mills, a new collaborative local economy group, has conducted a survey of the town’s businesses and residents, asking people what they thought about the town, how behaviours had changed during the pandemic and what they felt New Mills needed to do and to become, to take itself forward.

The results are being presented at the pop-up consultation today (Friday) and Saturday, in an empty retail unit at 30 Union Road, 10am to 5pm both days.

Residents are invited along to see the social and economic value of partnering and a community-focussed strategy over the next year and beyond.

The event follows on from February’s ‘Community Conversation’ hosted by Transition New Mills and New Mills Town Council.

It followed a belief that in New Mills, with the exception of its elected members, there is no one person or group mandated by the town’s businesses or residents, to speak on their behalf.
