Question Time panel in Buxton revealed

The BBC has confirmed the panellists for the Question Time programme which will come live from Buxton on Thursday evening (30 January).

James Cleverly, Sarah Jones, Minette Batters, Sacha Lord and Geoff Norcott make up a five-strong panel. 

Cleverly is the Conservative Party chairman, was a Brexit minister under Theresa May and serves in the Territorial Army. 

Jones is Labour's Shadow Housing Minister and has been the MP for Croydon Central since 2017. She has previously worked for housing charity Shelter. 

Batters is President of the National Farmers' Union, runs a family farm in Wiltshire and is a trustee of the charity Farm Africa. 

Lord is a businessman and entrepreneur who set up the Parklife Festival and The Warehouse Project. He is also Manchester's Night Time Economy advisor. 

Norcott is a comedian and writer who used to work as an English teacher. He has appeared on the BBC's Mock The Week and Live at the Apollo. 

The hour-long programme will be presented by Fiona Bruce (pictured) and broadcast at Buxton's Pavilion Gardens at 10.35pm, after the News At Ten. 

First broadcast in September 1979, the BBC's flagship political debate show features a studio audience who quiz a panel of politicians, journalists and public figures on topical issues. It has often sparked debate and caused controversy.
