Simmondley Medical Practice raise funds for Mentell

Having cancelled the 2020 Christmas Raffle due to Covid-19 restrictions, the Staff and Patient Participation Group at Simmondley Medical Practice worked together to make sure this wasn't repeated for Christmas 2021.

The Patient Participation Group (PPG) is made up of patients who meet regularly to support the Pennine Road practice and help maintain its high level of standards for the medical care and services that it delivers in Simmondley.

Raffle prizes were donated by patients of the Practice, and the star prize of a Christmas Hamper donated by the Medical Practice.

Each year, a different local charity is selected by the PPG and for 2021 they chose Mentell, who arrange safe and confidential meetings for men aged 18+ to talk, or just listen, about mental health issues that they may be experiencing.

The raffle raised £100 which was presented to Jo Mellor, Mentell Community Manager, by Dr R Jha, watched by Gary Hill, Mentell Facilitator, and PPG members.

Further information about Mentell can be found on their website www.mentell.org.uk, or by contacting Jo Mellor by email community@mentell.org.uk
