Simmondley store refit put on hold

The Co-op in Simmondley.

The Co-op in Simmondley has announced that its planned refit has now been put back until next year.

The Pennine Road shop was due to be closed from 13 September until 21 October for a refurb.

But on Tuesday afternoon (24 August), the store said on its Facebook page: "It is with regret that we’ve had to postpone our upcoming store refit until 2022.

"I’m sure you’ll be as disappointed as we are, however, the wait will be worth it in the end.

"Thank you for your continued support as always."
