Success in Trance Charts for High Peak singer

Hannah Brine.

A new single from High Peak-based singer Hannah Brine is currently at number four in the worldwide Trance Charts.

The track called ‘You and I’ was released by Hannah Brine on Good Friday on the Black Hole dance label.

It has already clocked more than 21,000 plays on Spotify, and it is currently number four in the worldwide trance charts on music site Beatport - the main site for DJs to download from.

Hannah, who is a folk-pop singer-songwriter, choral director and voice coach, said: “I am really blown away by the reaction to the song!

“Usually, I write singer songwriter type songs so it’s amazing to hear my song in a different style and know it’s connecting with so many people around the world.”

The song was written by Hannah during lockdown and is produced by Ciaran McAuley and Roger Shah.

Hannah added: “The song is about wishing things had worked out differently with someone, learning from your mistakes and learning what makes something work, I guess about maturing and compatibility in relationships.

“It was written during lock down, so its happy memories from difficult times!”’

Hannah, who recently moved to New Mills, is launching the High Peak Singers community choir on Monday 9 May. It will rehearse at Hayfield Village Hall on Monday evenings from 7pm to 8.30pm.
