Another defibrillator could soon be on the way to Tintwistle thanks to the village's caring parish council.
Members have agreed to pay £2,500 to buy and install one outside the United Reformed Church on Old Road.
It will be the third heart start machine in the village, the others are outside the New Road Conservative Club and at the West Drive home of Tintwistle Athletic FC.
Sharon Whiting, who lives in the village, already regularly checks both defibs and has agreed to be responsible for the third.
The parish council had been keen to provide a defibrillator for the eastern end of the village and is grateful to the church for its support.
The council will make an annual payment to Tintwistle URC to cover the cost of electricity and lighting.
