The celebration of the life of Dr Daniel Bennett, which was planned for this Sunday (March 22) at Glossop Cricket and Bowling Club, has been postponed.
The decision has been taken by his family in light of the coronavirus situation, which has resulted in the Government asking people to avoid large gatherings.
A family member said: "We are in no doubt that this is what Daniel would have wanted us to do."
The family stress that a celebration of Daniel's life will take place some time in the future.
We will have full details in the Chronicle and here on our website.
The committal, which will be private, is expected to take place very soon.
