Walkers rescued from Mam Tor during Storm Dudley

Mam Tor in the Peak District.

A group of four walkers have come under fire after they needed rescuing from Mam Tor during Storm Dudley.

Members of Edale Mountain Rescue Team were called out on Wednesday afternoon (16 February) at 5.12pm after the quartet were struggling on the top of Mam Tor.

Due to the nature of the weather and the strength of the wind, a team of volunteers went to help the walking party back to their car, where they were able to get warm and dry.

However, the actions of the walkers have been criticised on social media, with many questioning the wisdom of walking on such an exposed hill when a storm was forecast.

The MRT members were praised for their ongoing commitment to help those who get into difficulty on the hills.
