Warning about scam caller claiming to be from Santander

Police are warning people to be vigilant after a member of the public received a scam call purporting to be from Santander bank. 

Glossop Police's Safer Neighbourhood Team said they received the report on Tuesday afternoon (2 March) that a scammer is calling people pretending to be from the bank. 

They added that the message on the number 020805884642 states that money had been taken out of their account. 

Police said: "Thankfully our follower contacted the bank - who confirmed this was a scam.

"Forward any scams to report@phishing.gov.uk

"Do not become a victim."
