Budding writers are in for a treat as a children’s book author is set to visit Oldham Library.

Susan Brownrigg will deliver two school workshops at the Greaves Street library, on World Book Day on Thursday, March 6, 2025.

The Lancashire-born author has written an array of historical adventures for children aged from eight to 12 years.

Some of her books include Gracie Fairshaw, a detective's series set in 1930s Blackpool and Kintana and the Captain’s Curse, a treasure hunt adventure with lemurs and pirates.

Her new book, Wrong Tracks, is a historical mystery inspired by the early railways and the Rainhill Trials. All will be available to borrow from Oldham Library.

Her key stage two workshops include a mixture of history that inspired her books and writing exercises.

Both workshops have already been booked.
