Saddleworth’s Santa Dash has been hailed as a major success despite Saturday’s challenging weather conditions.
Organisers reported a fantastic community spirit as hundreds of runners and spectators turned out in festive costumes.
Around 2,500 Santas took part in the charity run which raised between £25,000 to £30,000 for local groups and projects across Saddleworth.
Those taking part ran 2km or 5km from Uppermill Park towards Greenfield and then back round again.
Andy Rothwell, Event Lead for the Saddleworth Round Table, which organised the event, said: “It went really well despite the weather. All got wet, but they had a great time. We have already donated around £6,000 to schools and sports clubs.
“I want to thank everybody who took part including the volunteers, marshals and those who braved the weather to take part in the Santa Dash.”
