Fire crews worked throughout the night to bring a huge fire at a three-storey church building in Oldham under control.
Firefighters said the roof of the disused rectory of St Mark with Christ Church in Glodwick was well alight when they arrived at around 9pm on Thursday night.
Fire engines from Oldham, Chadderton, Hollins, Blackley, Heywood and Mossley attended the scene on Glodwick Road, as they spent hours working to extinguish the flames.
Incident Commander, Station Manager Michael Branney, said in a statement last night that the incident was under control and thanked local people for their co-operation.
It's understood no-one was inside the building as nearby residents were advised to keep windows and doors shut.
Fire service chiefs will be returning to the scene later today (Friday) to investigate the cause of the fire.
