A huge fire broke out at a scrap yard in Royton this morning with plumes of smoke seen from miles away.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service attended the blaze on Mossdown Road at around 8.25am. Luckily, there were no injuries.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: “Eight fire engines from GMFRS were called to a fire involving a commercial waste premises in Royton.
“Firefighters are working hard to extinguish the fire and remain in attendance."
As a precaution, the fire service is urging nearby residents to keep their doors and windows closed.
