Police have seized five illegal e-bikes and made several arrests in St Mary’s and Coldhurst over the weekend in a crackdown on anti-social behaviour.
Officers carried out a proactive operation on Saturday, July 4 following a number of incidents in the area where police have seen an increase in anti-social behaviour (ASB) linked to individuals riding Sur-Ron motorcycles and illegally modified electric bikes.
Specialist units from the motorcycle and traffic patrols were deployed alongside neighbourhood officers and supported by the National Police Air Service (NPAS) to conduct a full day of action in the area.
The operation resulted in the seizure of five illegal e-bikes and several arrests. Officers also carried out numerous stop searches as part of the activity.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “We will not tolerate anti-social behaviour in our communities, and we will relentlessly tackle criminality, disrupt ASB and improve safety for local communities.”
As a result of this activity, Sonny Housb (20) of Durden Mews, Shaw was charged with dangerous driving, failure to stop, driving with no license and driving with no insurance.
He will appear before Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court on Wednesday, November 11, 2026.
