The firearm recovered at the man's address

A teenager has been charged with possession of a readily convertible firearm as part of a crackdown on Turkish manufactured Top Venting Blank Firers .

Sufiaan Ali of Hardy Street, Glodwick, has been remanded to appear at Minshull Street Court on Friday, March 14, 2025.

He has also been charged with being concerned in the supply of Class B drugs - namely THC and synthetic cannaboids - and possession of criminal property.

This charge is one of the first for this specific new offence, and comes as Greater Manchester Police support a national amnesty to recover Turkish-manufactured Top Venting Blank Firers (TVBF).

Firearms of any nature, but particularly models Retay, Ekol, Ceonic ISSC and Blow, must be surrendered to police stations by Friday, February 28,  2025, as they are now illegal.
