The Oldham Mountain Rescue Team in action

Woman stretchered to safety from remote location at Dovestones.

Twelve members of Oldham Mountain Rescue Team  were called out on Wednesday evening to assist North West Ambulance Service to locate and help a woman with a lower leg injury.

The callout officer made contact with the casualty and ascertained her location in the Dovestones area.

The team were then deployed and quickly located and administered first aid for an ankle injury.

They then used the team's stretcher to carry the woman to the nearest road where she was then transported to hospital for further assessment.

The rescue team wish her a speedy recovery.

The team were involved for one and-a-half hours.
