Oldham Mountain Rescue Team were called to support Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) as crews responded to fires at Dovestone on Sunday morning.
Volunteers guided fire crews to key access points, providing valuable navigational support and local knowledge.
Later in the day, as a change in wind direction exacerbated the fire, the team also provided medical cover in support of the tireless firefighters working to bring the blaze under control while protecting the countryside and local communities.
A large fire remained at Dovestone yesterday (Mon), and the team has been out providing further support to GMFRS.
With the warm, dry weather set to continue, GMFRS is reminding everyone to take extra care if you are visiting the moors.
People are urged to avoid areas affected by the blaze, follow any advice from the emergency services, and report any signs of fire immediately.
