The Saddleworth Neighbourhood Policing Team is hosting a knife amnesty at their station this week.
Operation Sceptre is a national weeklong initiative that focuses on the impact of knife crime to raise awareness of its dangers and lessen offences.
In addition to Greater Manchester Police’s knife amnesty bin locations, the Saddleworth Neighbourhood Policing Team will be holding a knife amnesty at Saddleworth Police Station on High Street, Uppermill between 4pm to 7pm this Thursday (May 22).
Knives and bladed articles can be handed in at the station front desk anonymously.
Sergeant Connor Brook said "Many knives are held in innocence or ignorance of their illegality. Amnesty gives members of the public the chance to dispose of a knife anonymously with no questions asked, by simply depositing it into the amnesty bin at their local police station."
