Oldham residents can avoid the New Year queues by booking their Christmas tree collection online.
From Thursday, January 8 to Saturday, January 10, Dr Kershaw’s Hospice can collect and recycle unwanted real Christmas trees for a suggested minimum donation of £10.
All money collected will go towards funding services for patients and their families.
The service is available in the following Oldham postcodes: OL1, OL2, OL3, OL4, OL8, OL9 and M35.
With the help of volunteers, the hospice rescued 200 trees in 2025, raising more than £2,000.
In 2026, they hope to beat this figure and help even more people living with life-limiting illnesses.
Tom Hall, community and partnerships fundraiser, said: “Relax this Christmas and let us take care of recycling your real Christmas tree.
“By booking a collection with us, you are helping families when they need us the most.
“Each donation of £10 is the equivalent of two hours of high-flow oxygen, helping a patient to breathe.
“Or it could pay for an hour of bereavement support over the phone to a loved one navigating grief.”
