NOTICE (PURSUANT TO ARTICLE 4 AND SCHEDULE 3) OF ARTICLE 4 DIRECTION
(WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT)
We HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that on 29th September 2025 TAMESIDE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL (“the Council”) being the local planning authority within the meaning of article 4(5) of the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (England) Order 2015 (as amended) made a Direction under article 4(1) of the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (England) Order 2015 (as amended) which provides that development of the description(s) set out in the First Schedule of this notice should not be carried out on the land described in the Second Schedule of this notice unless planning permission is granted on an application made under Part III of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 (as amended).
THE DIRECTION was made under article 4(1) of the said Order and the effect of the Direction is that it removes permitted development rights granted for development described in the First Schedule of this notice and such development will not be carried out within the area to which the direction applies as described in the Second Schedule of this notice unless planning permission is granted by the Council. The Direction comes into effect immediately, but the Council will consider any representations submitted during the representation period in deciding whether to confirm the Direction.
FIRST SCHEDULE
Development consisting of a change of use of a building from a use falling within Class
C3(dwellinghouses) of the Schedule to the Town and Country Planning (Use Classes) Order 1987 (as amended) to a use falling within Class C4 (houses in multiple occupation) of that Schedule being development comprised within Class L of Part 3 of Schedule 2 to the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (England) Order 2015 and not being development comprised within any other Class.
SECOND SCHEDULE
Land being the whole area of the Council as shown edged black on the plan attached to the Direction. A copy of the direction and plan defining the land to which the direction relates can be viewed: (i) online at: https://www.tameside.gov.uk/planningandbuildingcontrol (ii) at Tameside Borough Council Customer Services, Tameside One, Market Place, Ashton-under-Lyne during business opening hours. Any person wishing to make written representations concerning the Direction must submit these during the representation period, which is from 2nd October 2025 to 24th October 2025.

REASON: To facilitate telecom pole testing.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Old Road, , A628, Old Road and vice versa.
Access will be maintained, whenever reasonably possible, on the affected length of road. The road will re-open as soon as the work is finished. This may be earlier than advertised.
