Stalybridge Celtic were in action on Tuesday in Jon Macken's second game in charge of the club, losing away to 13th placed Congleton Town.
As they did in their previous match, Celtic took an early lead after Milan Lakovic’s cross found the head of Jordan Boon who powered the ball home to put his side in front.
After going into the break leading, visitors Celtic had a nightmare second half, conceding three times and losing Javid Swaby-Neavin to a red card, as they were condemned to a 3-1 defeat.
“First half I thought we played really well, we attacked with pace and desire, and we were on top,” manager Jon Macken told Stalybridge Celtic’s YouTube channel.
“But second half we just couldn’t get going. We’ve conceded three poor goals, the first two in particular were very disappointing- they just came from long balls over the top.
“We need a reaction after that second half performance, and Tuesday’s game is massive now,” he added.
Celtic travel to NPL Premier leaders Macclesfield on Tuesday for a Cheshire Senior Cup tie.
