Following the departure of Nick Spooner in September, Hyde United’s search for a new manager is finally over.
After a lengthy interview process, The Tigers have elected to recruit from within, with interim manager Martin Coyne taking over as the club’s permanent boss.
Coyne has been in temporary charge since the start of September, winning three out of his five matches at the helm, including navigating two tough FA Cup ties.
The former assistant manager will follow in his father Ged’s footsteps, who took charge of The Tigers between 1992 and 1993.
He will be joined in the dugout by Harry Bunn and Chris Shaw.
Following his appointment, Coyne commented:
“I’m delighted, it’s an honour to be named manager of Hyde United’s first team.
“It’s been a tough year, but ultimately, when you’re put in this position you’ve got to remain professional.
“We’re gonna go forward now and do everything we can to make it successful.”
Hyde chairman Steve Hartley added:
“The board have been impressed with the response of the team and the fans in the interim period where we have progressed through two rounds of the FA Cup, losing only one league match and keeping three clean sheets.
“We wish them every success and are sure the supporters will give their support as always.”
