Curzon U8s celebrate stellar campaign

Curzon Ashton Blues U8s had a record-breaking 2024/25 campaign, doing what no grassroots team across Greater Manchester have done before, winning every trophy on offer across both of the biggest Manchester junior football leagues.

The team won the MYSL Premier Division Christmas Cup, MYSL Champion of Champions, and the Premier Division Champions League, becoming the first grassroots team to ever win the treble at three different academy venues.

The Blues also won the East Manchester League’s famous Primary Cup as well as one of the most difficult tournaments to win across the northwest, the Tourney King – Kings of the North West.

This was capped off with six of the players being signed by professional football clubs and going onto start their journey in academy football at some of the biggest clubs in the UK.

The team also had success off the pitch, raising over £5000 for Cancer Research UK and donating over 100 toys to charities between the blues and whites U8s teams.

Speaking following the achievement, Curzon U8s coach Anthony Park commented:

“What the lads have achieved across the season is a result of the constant focus we have all put on how they play and enjoy their football, how each player harnesses their individual strengths as a young person and player and the togetherness of the team, players and parents.

“They are such a special group and they have created such special memories that will be with them forever.”
