Dukinfield Town FC's facilities vandalised

The current state of the facilities at Dukinfield Town FC.

At around 10pm on Friday night (16 June) it was reported that the facilities of Dukinfield Town FC had been subject to arson and vandalism.

The perpetrators broke into the club's building, destroying all rooms they could access, ripping sinks off the wall, and smashing light fittings. The group then started a fire in one of the rooms causing the whole ceiling to collapse and send smoke damage to other parts of the building.

They also vandalised the outside of the building, smashing lights and covering the outside in paint. As well as smashing up the lifesaving defibrillator that is there to save lives if ever needed.

The club has estimated that the cowardly act will cost them tens of thousands of pounds in damages. As expected, the club are desperate for donations, due to themselves being a self-sufficient, non-profit club.

A JustGiving page was set up over the weekend which is currently still accepting donations. Thanks to the generosity of local people and organisations, the figure currently stands at just under £3000, and this figure is hopefully set to rise.

Any donations would be much appreciated, to donate please click the link below:
